Grandma Elara and the Sleepy Star
In a little house nestled amongst soft, rolling hills lived Grandma Elara. Her hair was like a fluffy white cloud, and her eyes sparkled like tiny, happy fireflies. Every evening, just as the sky turned a deep indigo, Grandma Elara would sit by her window, humming a gentle tune. Her house always smelled of warm cookies and lavender, making everyone feel safe and loved. One particular evening, as she gazed out, she noticed something peculiar. A tiny star, much smaller and dimmer than the others, seemed to be wobbling. It wasn't sparkling brightly like its friends; it looked very, very sleepy. "Oh dear," Grandma Elara whispered with a kind smile, "It looks like a little star has had a very busy day and can't find its way home to its comfy, cloud bed." Grandma Elara, who knew all sorts of secrets about the moon and stars, stood up slowly. She went to her special drawer and pulled out a soft, shimmering shawl, spun from moonlight and whispered wishes. She wrapped it around her shoulders and walked out into her garden, looking up at the sky. She didn't have to say anything loud; the little star just seemed to feel her gentle presence. "Hello, little one," she hummed, her voice like a soft breeze. "It's time for all good stars to rest. You've shone so brightly all day, keeping watch over the world. Now it's your turn to close your twinkling eyes." Grandma Elara gently stretched out her hand, not to touch the star, but to send it warmth and calm. She imagined a soft, invisible blanket floating up towards it. Slowly, ever so slowly, the sleepy star began to drift. It stopped wobbling and settled into a soft, hazy glow. It looked like it was snuggling down, getting ready for a long, peaceful nap amongst the bigger, brighter stars. Grandma Elara watched until its light became a steady, peaceful shimmer, no longer struggling. She smiled, a knowing smile that reached her eyes. "There you go, little star. Sweet dreams until morning," she murmured. Then she turned to go back inside, her heart full of peace. "Just like the little star," she thought, "now it's time for all the good children to close their eyes and dream wonderful dreams until the sun peeks over the hills again."
